Tailgate Party

Saturday, September 11, 2021

10:00 am – 12:00 pm

International House Great Room

Join the International House at its annual tailgate party!

A favorite tradition of many American sports fans, a tailgate party typically occurs before a game and includes food, drinks, and games. UT fans gather on and near campus before (and sometimes during and after!) games to rally support for the Vols.

We will be serving some traditional tailgate food and playing traditional tailgate games in and near the International House, and all students are welcome to join!

Why is it called a “tailgate party”?

The name comes from the history of having these parties in parking lots. The back part of a pickup truck is called a tailgate, and that space is often used as a makeshift table for food and drinks.
